This new 'remastered' version of Cry Havoc is produced by
Footsore Miniatures, the publisher of the famous
'Barons' Wars' with new artwork by Gary Chalk, the original
designer of Cry Havoc in 1981.
The Kickstarter far exceeded its
initial $20,000 goal and raised almost $60,000.
Key takeaways:
> The
same characters, but in new poses;
> The
counter thickness seems to be identical to th eone of the
original game, which means very thin...
>
The original 'The Crossroads' and 'The Village' maps are
back, with a new design and regular hexgrid;
> 2
new maps ''The Wooded Vale' and 'The Pasture' are added, but
will be printed at the back of the previous ones (!);
>
The rules are those of the original game published 45
years ago;
>
Only available in English. Electronic versions in French,
German and Spanish should be available.
>
Retail price is £60£ (about 72€ and $81). The pack of 4 maps
is available separately for £13 (about €18 and $20);
>
A new Kickstarter campaign will be launched at the end of
2026 with a different game of the original series (Siege
likely).
